This year marked the 12th iteration of Skate Like a Girl’s epic gathering, Wheels of Fortune. With 12 signs in the zodiac calendar, obviously the theme had to be astrology. But is astrology even real? Isn’t it only for lesbians and witches? Well, you’d be surprised how the planets and stars influence all your favorite pros. The best part is being decisive, but the worst is needing constant praise and attention—and also having wet hair, because cats don’t like to get wet.

I was so excited seeing how fun the event was. I had to come and see it for myself.

What’s the upside and downside to being a Capricorn?
I can easily set my mind to something and focus on it until I achieve it, but when my social battery goes down, I need alone time.

Because I work at Skate Like a Girl! This is my fourth WOF working on the backend, making sure people have a wonderful time.
What has been your highlight?
Seeing the hugs and the eyes light up when people who haven’t seen each other in a second meet again.
Who is your favorite skater?
I am gonna shout out Fabiana Delfino because she has put in the work making big transitions in her life. Also, she takes the gnarliest slams.
What’s the upside and downside to being a Capricorn?
The worst thing is being too anal about your schedule to a fault. The best thing is I know I am a reliable friend. I am always there if they need me.

Why did you come to WOF?
I came two years ago and it was so much fun. I always see and chat with all the girls on Instagram, but coming here to hang out in person and skate is THE BEST!
What has been your highlight?
Seshing and chatting with everyone at SeaSk8. People were filming and taking photos. Everyone was just so stoked and supportive.
Who is your favorite skater?
For a while now it’s been Fabiana Delfino, also Louie Lopez and Didrik Galasso.
What’s the upside and downside to being an Aquarius?
I don’t know much, but we are out of the box. We do our own thing, which is the sickest part. I don’t think there is a downside; we are just superior.

Vitória Mendonça, Shag, Breanna Geering, Poe Pinson, Hannah Tallman and Jenn Soto. I wish she was here.
What’s the upside and downside to being a Pisces?
The upside is I am not afraid to be sensitive and wear my emotions, but the downside is feeling too much and coming off as manipulative.

I came to the last edition and it felt like a very open and accepting community, one I didn’t have growing up. It’s very fulfilling being around everyone.
What has been your highlight?
The Witch Hunt was super fun, and skating Marginal Way, too. I wasn’t even going to skate but Sheezy said I had to skate, so I grabbed my board and started rolling.
Who is your favorite skater?
I really enjoy watching Jake Yanko; he is amazing. Also, I love hanging, watching and skating with Fabiana Delfino and Sheezy. Honestly, all my friends, they are my favorite skaters.
What’s the upside and downside to being a Taurus?
I was born in May so the weather is always nice, but I always had school on my birthday growing up—at least up until college, so that was great!

Why did you come to WOF?
Being here is a dream. I have followed WOF since the first edition. Meeting new faces and seeing my idols is unreal.
What has been your highlight?
Well, first, I can’t believe I am sharing this trip with Vitória. I saw her grow up into the person she is today. Second, the SeaSk8 session was amazing—seeing everyone laughing, having a good time along with the legends like Jaime Reyes, Marisa Dal Santo and Alex White. It’s a fever dream.
Who is your favorite skater?
Lately, I have been inspired by Vitória. She is a role model for every street skater coming out of Brazil.
What’s the upside and downside to being a Gemini?
That’s hard! One point about Gemini is good communication, but I don’t know because I am shy.

Why did you come to WOF?
Because it’s a super fun event. I love it every time I come here.
What has been your highlight?
Skating SeaSk8 with my friends because it’s such a rare time to have all these people together in one place.

What’s the upside and downside to being a Cancer?
You experience emotions deeply, so when the highs are high, they are great. But the lows are pretty intense and you spend a lot of time crying. That’s okay, though, because it’s good for you. So we are actually healthy AF.

I went to WOF 6 with Silly Girls Skateboards. It was the first women and non-binary skate event I went to. It’s been a tradition ever since then.
What has been your highlight?
Coming here and seeing all my friends coming from across the globe. I don’t have many opportunities to see everybody I know all at once.
Who is your favorite skater?
Fabiana Delfino. She is a wonderful friend and someone I have always looked up to.
What’s the upside and downside to being a Cancer?
We are pretty compassionate. We have big hearts and we wear it on our sleeves. But this can be a downside, too. We can be very sensitive.

VM: Doing back to back with everybody at the SeaSk8 session.
MS: Wandering around, kissing my girlfriend, talking to new people, drinking beers with my friends.

VM: My friends, Vitoria Bortolo, Maité, Samarria, Leo Baker, Alexis Sablone, Marisa Dal Santo. I like people who skate good and are good people, too.

VM: I like to follow things through. I am a perfectionist, but I tend to overthink.

We are very good at communicating and in social settings. The downside is, we are also not good at communicating when we are upset and we have bad attitudes sometimes.
