Sammy Montano's Globe Colorway Release Party
2/18/2019
After clocking countless hours on the board, Globe made the executive decision to hook Sammy Montano up with his own custom colorway of the Dion Pro, a casual surf shoe turned skate footwear. With eight months spent filming a part through Paris, Belgium, Berlin, New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas, it was a no-brainer to get all the homies together to throw a party in celebration of the finish line being crossed. So Thursday night Orange County and LA’s finest rolled out to the El Dorado bar in Downtown Los Angeles to celebrate with Sammy and have a few drinks on the house. Congrats, Sammy! –Papke
You know it’s big time when your name’s on the sign
Reservations have been made!
Light-up shoe display? Not bad, guys
There he is! The man of the hour
Homies are never bummed on an open tab!
Always gotta find the matching dudes. Danny and Jonathon—think they planned it?
Who doesn’t love a free T? Definitely not leaving empty-torso’d
No strangers to the bar, Aaron Jupin and Ryan Townley
The whole Montano squad made it out!
Decenzo wasn’t feeling the free-drinks wristbands
And by the looks of it was a pretty disappointed not to come up on a free shirt
All he really needed was a mojito to calm the nerves. Ah, much better
Huf boys Dakota Mullins and Justin Drysen
Darius King, Zac Coyne and filmer Andy Licardi. Make sure to look out for them in the next Control Room montage coming to the site sooner than later
Mighty and the boys made their way down from The Valley
Paul had to hit Sammy’s grandfather with a proper shake. Can’t go wrong with that hat!
Acosta and Aaron Brown on the other side of the lens for once
It’s not a party without James Craig! Paul already knows
Now that’s one hell of an entrance
Al wasn’t slowing down on the dance floor anytime soon
Drysen had his back! Doesn’t count if you don’t have the footy
Sammy was hyped to get a song from Autolux for his part and even more stoked to have the drummer and vocalist Carla Azar in the crowd!
David Rodriguez was busting his ass whipping up drinks all night
One hell of a roommate combo. Paul’s a Red Dragon at heart
Two thumbs up from these two SOTYs
Party can’t start until Luis Cruz gets his drink. Point him in the right direction, James!
Bublitz knows it’s easier to closeout earlier than later
The crowd couldn’t wait much longer for the video
James had a feeling it was gonna be a good one. One more cheers to get it going
Exactly what we’ve been waiting for
The results are in…
Unanimous approval
And they couldn’t be more stoked
Now that the stressful part is over, it’s time to unwind
That’s a wrap! Thanks to Globe for having us out for one hell of a night. Click around the site and find Sammy’s part playing now—you don’t wanna miss it. Congrats on the shoe, dude!
